El mítico rockero Ronnie James Dio, vocalista de la banda Heaven & Hell, y anteriormente de Black Sabbath y Rainbow, padece “las primeras etapas de cáncer al estómago”, confirmó su esposa Wendy Dio.
"Ronnie ha sido diagnosticado con las primeras etapas de cáncer de estómago. Estamos comenzando inmediatamente el tratamiento en la Clínica Mayo”, señala la esposa del cantante en su página web.
“Después de que mate a este dragón, Ronnie estará de regreso en el escenario, donde le corresponde, haciendo lo que más le gusta, la realización de sus fans”, asevera la cónyuge, de uno de los vocalistas de heavy metal, más influyentes de la década de los 80
Dio fue vocalista de Rainbow, una interesante banda de metal, pero logró trascendencia mundial, al reemplazar a Ozzy Ousbourne en la histórica Black Sabbath, considerada la pionera del heavy metal.
Luego, actuó como solista, manteniendo su fama con temas como “Holy Driver” y “Rainbow In The Dark”.
Dio se reúne con sus ex compañeros de Black Sabbath, y todos tocan bajo el nombre de Heaven & Hell.
“Gracias a todos los amigos y fans de todo el mundo que han enviado buenos deseos. Esto realmente ha ayudado a mantener el espíritu arriba. Long Live Rock and Roll, Viva Ronnie James Dio”, agrega la esposa.
Cabe mencionar que Dio, canceló la gira que tenía prevista para Europa, al ser hopitalizado.
